Our mission
To give food to families living in the East Syracuse-Minoa school district. We distribute food according to the Food Bank of CNY.
Our hours of operation are from 5:45pm-7:00pm the 3rd Wednesday and 10:00am-11:00am , and 5:45pm-7:00pm the preceding Tuesday of the month. (The Tuesday before the 3rd Wednesday.) The dates of the operations and the times are listed below.
The only requirements to receive food are 2 forms of ID showing that you live in the ESM school district. (EX. Drivers license, NiMo bill, envelope with your address, etc). All we are checking is your address.
We are a client choice pantry.
This means that you select what you want from 3 major food groups that we have, Fruits & Vegetables including fresh and canned fruits and vegetables, Meats & Proteins, including meats, cheese, tuna, & beans, etc., and Grains which include cereals and pasta. The number of food you can select is based on the number of people in your household. We also have extra items that do not fall into these groups i.e. snacks, soup, coffee, personal items: shampoo, deodorant, dish & laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and tissues.
A bonus we do is the Food Bank of CNY has cooking demonstrations on Tuesday nights we are open and we supply the food necessary to be able to cook that meal at home.
At Easter we distribute Ham dinners and on Thanksgiving we distribute Turkey dinners. At Christmas we distribute gifts to children up to 18 years old.
We are always in need of workers to assist on the 2nd Monday in stocking the shelves in the morning.
